A lot of the best-performing posts on this site are just reviews of things that I wrote because I wanted to try something that didn’t have any reviews online! I hope and expect that will be true of this flowdreaming review, too!
Why I needed to try flowdreaming
As much as I’m feeling like I’m in a pretty good place right now, I haven’t been in a great headspace with manifestation.
For the last eight months or so I’d been listening to a podcast and doing some practices along with a large, popular manifestation influencer/company. I won’t name it because I don’t like to criticize people on the internet! But honestly: it was a lot of trauma work and looking at negative mindsets and negative parts of your life. And even though I do think that’s a valuable way of looking at our shadow selves and all that… it was honestly getting kind of heavy. I wasn’t enjoying it, and I was noticing more negativity in my mindset.
I’m totally open to the possibility that I was doing it wrong, or that I wasn’t healed enough to be manifesting in that way. I know some people love that program.
But it was not for me! I was not feeling better more of the time as a result of my practice. My introduction to manifestation was through Abraham Hicks, and as a result I try to really pay attention to my mindset and energy. And focusing so much on negative associations and negative feelings, even for growth reasons, wasn’t helping me. Past a certain point, it didn’t feel like healing, it felt like dwelling on negative past experiences.
(Maybe it’s obvious, but I wasn’t manifesting well, either.)
I needed something new, and I read a recommendation in the manifestation subreddit for a process called Flowdreaming. Here’s my flowdreaming review.
What is flowdreaming?
SO, flowdreaming is a manifestation strategy developed and popularized by Summer McStravick. It’s kind of a hybrid of a bunch of other techniques: sort of meditation, but not really, and sort of visualization, but not really. A flowdream is a creative visualization guided audio that gets you in the emotional state you need to be in.
This was really what I needed — the flowdreaming audios really run on symbolic visuals that get into your emotions. This makes them especially great for people who have struggled with the law of attraction in the past or who can’t get past the doubt. She doesn’t ask you visualize your desired outcome, so you don’t have to worry too much about belief or doubt or negative thinking.
Instead, you just cruise along with the visualization in this relaxed flow state. You’re not worrying about “I could have that” or “I don’t believe I could have that”. It’s not actually about reality. But the brain loves symbols and can interpret meaning from them without needing to worry about if it’s realistic or possible.
I’ll give you an example from one of the free ones Summer will send if you sign up for her email list on her website. It doesn’t focus on the expensive stuff that you might buy or the lifestyle you would have. Instead, the manifestation describes a waterfall, and she talks you through the waterfall as a symbol of abundance. (And if you never liked your English literature classes and this sounds like homework, know that it comes very naturally and isn’t teacher-y.)
Who would like this?
Maybe you! I do.
I needed a new way to work with manifestation that did not have me dwelling on negativity. Andd…..I really do believe that working on yourself is a super important part of manifesting. But it was honestly getting to be too much for me. I was feeling really limited and my vibration was not where I wanted it to be.
What flowdreaming does is set you in a positive mindset that is outside of doubt. The people I would most recommend this to are the people who, when they visualize their desired outcome, think, but that would never really happen.
Working on a visualization that doesn’t directly have to do with what you want, but that brings your mood up anyway, can be a really powerful strategy for us! Because you can get to the vibrational place you need to be in without encountering that obstacle of doubting thoughts.
To me, this is what’s special about Flowdreaming! It’s a way to access that happiness and vibration that isn’t about me or how I’m feeling about myself that day. These audios are really good at just creating that positive, excited feeling regardless of what’s going on.
Where do I start flowdreaming?
Summer’s email list will send you two free flowdreams to start. And there are a lot available on her podcast if you go back to the older episodes.
(I want to tell you at this point that I’ve never interacted with Summer outside of these recordings! I’m not an affiliate or earning anything from this post.)
Regular readers of this blog know that I am very slow to spend money on something if the free version works! I used the free flowdreams and the podcast for a good month before buying a couple of the paid flowdreams. And I think you can get really good results from just these.
But I have bought three flowdreams, and I’m alternating between them when I need a pick-me-up. (They have been CLUTCH at my desk at lunch.)
So far, my favorite is Amazing Reciever! But there are flowdreams for just about anything that you might be looking to manifest. I think my next purchase will be the ones aimed at kids, which seem to be a way to bring manifestation into my children’s lives unconsciously. (Each page has a specific flowdreaming review for that audio, which is really helpful.)
I hope this flowdreaming review has helped someone who was searching like I was!
