How to write your own law of attraction affirmations for love

When you’re working on custom law of attraction affirmations for love, you want to get as specific as you can. 

So, you’re not just looking for “a relationship”. You’re looking for “a healthy relationship” or “a relationship with unconditional love” or meeting the love of my life at exactly the right time”. 

Remember — all these affirmations should be written in the past or present tense. You either are experiencing or already experienced what you desire. So it’s not “I will meet my soul mate”, it’s “I met my soul mate and s/he is my perfect match”. 

Affirmations will manifest the best if you are speaking the energy that you’re looking for into the world. Using your affirmations and really visualizing and committing to that experience gives you the same high vibration that actually having the experience would.

​Your mind doesn’t know the difference between imagining an experience and having it, so really feeling yourself in these love manifestation affirmations will help you manifest that relationship. Many of us are limited in our ability to find love by our past experiences. 

If you have had traumatic relationships in the past, or you grew up around unhappy or unstable relationships, it can be hard to imagine what affirmations would even lead you to happiness.

And if you get the right affirmations, or you choose between the ones below to help you keep positive energy, it can still be very hard to believe that you can be happy. Bad relationships can make us feel damaged. Or, we can have a lot of negative self-talk that sounds a lot like that former partner. Or maybe we feel like we pick the wrong guys, over and over again.

A quick note on ‘specific person’ affirmations for love

I’m going to be 100% honest with you here. 

You can try, and it might work. That specific person that you’ve had your eye on might be the kind of person who is able to be a great partner, and you might see positive results and loving relationships. 

The universe might say no, though. If that person is incapable of making you happy, no amount of affirmations will bring them to you. And if you keep building up your self-esteem and positive thinking, getting happier and healthier and practicing gratitude, you might get further away from them than ever. 

​(This is a GOOD THING, but I know that when you’re in love with someone who doesn’t seem interested, it’s hard to hear that.)

And what you definitely don’t want to do is get into something toxic through affirmations. If you keep saying “I am Kevin’s dream girl” but Kevin is a jerk, then you are not going to be raising your vibration or increasing your happiness. Because Kevin’s dream girl is probably also a jerk. 

This is the challenge with affirmations — if you are mostly focused on bettering yourself, you can see amazing improvements and put yourself on the right path for you. But the truly right path for you may not be the one you think you want. (You can spend two years with Kevin if you really want to! But it’ll be toxic and you’ll cry a lot, and you won’t come out of it happier or better off.) 

So — if you’re truly crazy about somebody, go ahead and throw in an affirmation or two that refers to them specifically. But make sure the majority of your law of attraction affirmations for love are focused on you. You getting stronger, you getting more peaceful, you getting out of your comfort zone. 

That way, you know that if the person does show up on your doorstep, they’re going to be able to meet you as the best version of yourself. And you’re not making yourself smaller or weaker just to date some jerk.

Specific details of your dream partner 

Balancing the specific in your affirmations can be tough. I feel like a lot of people who are writing on this topic encourage you to get incredibly specific. And sometimes that’s fine when it’s stuff

Like, if you say “I love to wake up in my apartment with floor-to-ceiling windows”, like, okay, sure, that’s a you decision. 

But when you’re doing affirmations for love, it’s better to not get crazy specific about your partner. Instead, focus on what your needs are and how they would get met by your partner. 

Because if you’re talking about “6 foot 2.5 inches, from Virginia but living in New York, and he’s an architect, but he only designs animal shelters”…. All of that is kind of beside the point, and that person probably doesn’t exist. 

Manifestation isn’t going to pull a partner out of a magic cauldron or build one like Frankenstein. It’s going to raise your vibration to attract great things into your life. 

This doesn’t mean that you need to take whatever shows up. You can say,

So, you get a better result when you focus on what you’re looking to feel or experience rather than building an imaginary partner like a Sims character. Write affirmations that focus on your experience of the relationship and let the universe figure out how it happens.

Grab the ones that resonate with you. You’ll probably want them from all different sections to build a full picture.
